Twofer Card Challenge #36 - Your Choice

Welcome to the March Twofer Card Challenge. As you may know, we want to see two different designs for two different occasions using the same stamps, stencils and/or dies.

This month's prompt is Your Choice.

My choice for the challenge is HOUSE. I have created a card for moving into a new home and a Christmas card.  For both cards I've used craft supplies from the Slovenian brand Najlepši par.

I'm entering this cards to the:

- Najlepši par: Galerija meseca marca (okrašeni pravokotniki, pravokotniki s šivi,  akvarelno srce, v veseli vasici, sreča, voščila in zastavica, na travniku)

NEW HOME card

For this card I took a piece of white watercolor paper and die cut a rectangle with a stitched edge.  I sponged it with green and blue distress ink. Into the smaller white rectangle I die cut a heart. The roof of the house is sponged with red distress oxyde. The door and shutters are sponged with brown distress ink. I glued the house directly to the background, then glued a smaller rectangle with the heart opening and sentiment (a lot of luck) with 3D tape on the background. I have decorated the heart with the pine tree and the sun. I'm trying to make a perfect card until my daughter and her future husband will move into their new house. This is one of the attempts. :-) I still have a couple of months to find the right recipe for it. :-)

I'm entering this card to:

- Addicted to Stamps and More: Challenge #400 - Die Cuts and/or Stencils

- C.R.A.F.T. Challenge: Anything Goes - Challenge #589

- CASology: Week 385: LUCK ( a lot of luck for moving to the new home)

CHRISTMAS CARD

Try to imagine this card as a fairytale village floating under the northern lights. :-)  I have to admit that the background for the card was made months ago as a trial to make aurora borealis with distress inks.  Although it is not perfect, I'm glad to finish the card with this background. All motives are die cut out of white paper and sponged with distress inks. The yellow and red house are glued directly to the background. White house and the banner with the sentiment (happy holidays) are lifted up with 3D tape. I added a pine tree and a street lamp to the edges of the village.

I'm entering this card to:

- Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog: MLCCB #32 - March Anything Christmas Goes

I'm inviting you to join our challenge with your choice twofers. Please check out what our guest designers Nancy and Klara and the talented ladies of the designer team Darnell, Anita, Bev, Bonnie and Marcia have created to inspire you. Write some kind words on their blogs. They will love it as all of us do. :-)

This one's for you, dear crafters. The apricot blossom in our garden. Spring is just around the corner. :-)

Take care and stay safe!

Till the next time,

Sonja

Seems to me that you got the recipe just right for your new home card, Sonja ... that wonderfully detailed little house scene set in the heart is just adorable! What a fantastic village you created under the aurora borealis ... colourful, cute and deliciously festive with all that 'snow'! Thanks for the apricot blossom photo ... our almond tree is also in full bloom! Hugs, Anita :)

Ooo kako sta lepi! Super si uporabila različni šabloni, sploh vselitvena mi je zelo všeč:).

The new home owners will love their card and a nice welcome into the neighborhood. Putting the home inside the heart is such a lovely idea and so welcoming. The Christmas card is beautiful. The sky is stunning and the group of houses is so colorful and pretty. Two great twofers.

Oooh Sonja I think you found the perfect recipe, the little New Home card is absolutely delightful. I love the scene you've popped into the rustic heart aperture and adding the tree and sun to the outside adding so much interest. The Christmas card is bright, happy and so cheerful... two lovely inspirational cards x

Sonja, these are marvelous cards! That little house, and the others as well, are so sweet! The single house makes a lovely "new home" card, and I'm sure your daughter will love this. The heart cut-out frames it perfectly! Your aurora borealis looks 'heavenly' too! Such a pretty Christmas card! I really like that card. Great Twofer cards!! Stay safe. Sending hugs. Bev

These are stunning Sonja, both so different and both so awesome in their own way. I adore the CAS card with that lovely subtle background and then that very detailed house scene in the heart die-so very creative and so eye catching. Thanks for joining CASology x

Your little houses are so pretty, Sonja! I love the first card with both of the fancy edges and the offset heart framing the sweet house! I think you've found perfection! The row of brightly colored houses is so pretty against the aurora borealis! A wonderful Christmas card!

Two beautiful house cards for very different occasions using very different designs, Sonja. TFS the gorgeous blooming apricot tree also. Spring is popping up every where on the Oregon Coast USA too:-) Love the time of year. TFS your beautiful cards. Love and Hugs..nancy

Darnell pravi ...

First of all, thank you for sharing that amazing apricot blossom! I've never seen one before and I see that the tree is laden with buds so it must be breathtaking when all the blooms start popping! Yes, thank goodness, spring is on the way! That alone will lift everyone's spirits.

I love your cards, as always, Sonja! You have such an amazing eye for design and color and you always put them together exquisitely. I learn as I see how you layer each element. Putting the new home behind the heart is sweet enough, but adding the sunshine and the tree take it up a notch! And your practice aurora borealis makes a beautiful background for the Christmas village! I hope you both are keeping safe! Hugs, Darnell
